History

• PATH is a private non-profit child and family services agency. The agency has roots starting in1970’s in Minnesota and these extended into North Dakota in 1994 when blended with the exciting North Dakota Therapeutic Foster Care program. In 2000, PATH North Dakota was incorporated as a subsidiary of PATH Inc. On July 1, 2008, PATH North Dakota, Inc. became an independent agency focused on meeting the needs of North Dakota children and families. The organization is governed by a board of directors, which includes elected PATH foster parents as well as community representatives. On July 1, 2011, PATH ND, Inc. became the governing entity over all PATH programs and corporations.

• The mission of PATH is “Families Making the Difference”.

• PATH and their corporate entities are licensed respectively as a child placing agency by: the North Dakota Department of Human Services, Idaho Department of Child and Family Services, Minnesota Department of Human Services and are accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Services to Children and Families (COA).

• PATH has grown and developed an array of family services such as: Treatment Foster Care (TFC), Family Support (FS), Transition and Assessment Program (TAP), Family & Individual Resolution-Focused Services & Treatment (FIRST), Independent Living, Adults Adopting Special Kids, Wraparound, Community Assisted Recovery Environment (CARE), Supervised Alternative Family Environment (SAFE), Case Aide and Parent Support (CAPS), Adoption, Long term foster Care, Guardianship, Continuing Education and Job Training (CEJT) .

• PATH has further grown to develop programs and services in North Dakota, Minnesota and Idaho such as: Treatment Foster Care, Foster Care, Special Needs Foster Care, Assessment, and Shelter Care, Adoption, Counseling and Family-Based Services. PATH continues to search for other areas in the nation where our agency resources may assist in service provision relevant to any individual state service area. PATH is uniquely structured to offer corporate supports and services where ever they may be needed.
